Week Thirty Four

This week the community of Generation Distinct will be tackling the

Walk For Water Challenge.

6 kilometers is the average distance people in Africa walk for water; water that is often unsafe to drink and brings disease. This week, let’s raise awareness to remind our world that so many people don’t just walk to a faucet or their fridge for water.

We invite you to join our community all across the country as we walk or run 6 kilometers this week to raise awareness for those who do it every day just to find water.  You can complete the challenge on your school track, around your neighborhood, or on your favorite nature path.  You choose the place and you choose who you bring along!

We encourage you to invite a friend to join you as you experience a small picture of the daily reality of people across the globe.

If this challenge inspires you, we would also love to encourage you to do something about it by partnering with World Vision.  That could mean donating money to their clean water initiative, running one of their 6k, half marathon or marathon races to raise money for clean water, or even sponsoring a child in a country where clean water is not a reality.

Whatever your next step is, we challenge YOU to walk or run that distance and then post on social media to raise awareness for what is happening half way around the world.

Share a picture from your 6k walk or run to raise awareness in your community.

You may just inspire someone to take action to battle against this injustice in the world. Be sure to include the hashtag #GenDWeeklyChallenge in your post and a link to our website so others can join the challenge as well.

Don’t wait one more week.

Take THIS challenge THIS week and start raising awareness and making a difference in this world.
